A figure from the legend of Vallombrosa, named in the tellings of the di Errante story — the one that ended the great house and left the fog behind. Like everything about that night, the truth of him is buried under a thousand years of contradictory tales.

In the Legend

A thousand years ago, the di Errante were the most powerful noble house on Seravalle, and their estate at Vallombrosa was the envy of the island — until something so complete and terrible happened there that the estate became a dead zone, the family name became a cautionary tale, and the fog that swallowed it never lifted. Marcello appears in the versions of that story the city still tells, most visibly in the Amaranth Theater's annual staging of The Tragedy of Vallombrosa.
